Pooping Elephant...

All O wanted to see at the Zoo on Sunday was an elephant pooping...he got this from watching a youtube video of pooping elephants...and now he is fascinated with it. Thankfully, the only shot I got of an elephant, was sans poop!


There was this cute little elephant statue, and Santi and O had fun with it...O even tried to sound like an elephant...





We had a really great time hanging out together...it's such a beautiful zoo...







After walking around a while and having lunch, we went on the carousel for a goodbye spin...


Owen wasted no time in falling asleep on the way home...we had a great weekend with the family and can't wait to see everyone again...

Birthday Bash!

We headed over to Seattle for the weekend to help Jeri and Santi celebrate their birthdays! We had a WONDERFUL time...
The drive only took 4.5 hours...O slept for two of those hours, and we read and sang songs for the remainder of the drive! Joe and I were both pleasantly surprised with the time it took! Yey!
Saturday morning, dad and I went to Pike Place Market to do a "little" shopping...it was good to spend time together and catch up!

We got back home just in time to get ready before the guests arrived...Santi had some little friends over, so he and O were throughly entertained...(as were the rest of us watching them!)...We had a FABULOUS lunch...and cake! (O loved Aunt Lupe's cake!)...

After people began leaving, we stayed outside, enjoying the dwindling fire and each other before we went to bed!

Coeur d'Alene...

For Labor Day we headed over to CDA for the morning...It was pretty quiet for a holiday and a beautiful day! We parked and walked around a bit, then headed out to the beach and the dock...O loved the float planes and I can't wait till he's a little bit older so we can all take the scenic trip!
We headed home around 2ish and spent the rest of the day at home. It was a lovely day together!!!

Dear God...

So I'm sitting here in my studio, it's 6:49 am...and I hear Owen..."Git me out!"...He has apparently awoken, and wants out of his room...

I can't stand the cuteness....REALLY!!!!

In preparation for the upcoming cold season...(and I hear it gets really cold here!)...I went shopping...admittedly, maybe a little bit overboard...but such is life during a sale...

O was so excited to see the gear, he has been wearing the snow boots non-stop...even with his pj's! (And Joe's hat!)...Too cute!!!

Where's My O????

My sweet little piglet has been abducted by aliens! What other explanation could there be?
Ah, yes...I think I read about this somewhere...he's two! I don't think I'm handling this "new" developmental stage very well...and honestly, I don't much care for it either...Yes, of course there are moments of complete adorableness, followed by many, many moments of "Could I sell him on ebay?"...I have found myself having to leave the room on occasion, because I can't contain my surfacing laughter, and I really don't a) what him to know I'm laughing at him, b) encourage hysterical behavior that will surely send me to the mad house when it's repeated and repeated...
He now says "NO"...but it's not your typical, "NO", it's like he is a small bear that is really, really pissed and has swallowed a frog..."NOOOOOO"....can you hear it? I hate it...and you get this answer for asking a horribly intrusive question like, "O, would you like some chocolate milk with breakfast?"...
I think I'm in trouble. Or Joe is, as a sabbatical in Paris for 18 years is looking more and more appealing..."WHAT can I do to make this dream of mine into a reality???"
The "uhhhhhhhhhhhhh"....whining has started...not terrible yet, but I am getting a taste of how incredibly suicidal this sound will make me...
By contrast, his tenderness at times makes me feel so completely loved that I have never experience anything like it...he will come up to me, or reach out to me when we are laying down together and caress my face and gaze into my eyes...He will say "I wuv YOU!" after I tell him I love him...so sweet this little alien of mine...

A little late with this post...

We had a fabulous birthday weekend for O's 2nd birthday party...2 of his grandmas came out to celebrate with him! And some dear friends from Seattle also made the trek for the celebration!

It was a pretty low key weekend, with lots of good times...
