K-A-Y-A-K-I-N-G

We have a BEAUTIFUL, LOVELY, AWESOME triple kayak that Joe has almost finished! It just needs the final varnish and it's done! But...the good thing is that we can take it out in it's current state...and so we did...today...just the three of us!

We headed east to a lake that at this moment, escapes me, but it was only about 20 miles, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. O didn't want to travel solo in the middle cockpit, so first he rode with me, and on the way back, with Joe.

It was HOT...and a bit too sunny for all of our tastes, but nonetheless, a blast was had! We are planning a week long camping trip in the next few weeks, and hopefully, we will get lots of water time in the kayak!

Pics, of course!

A Day in CDA...

After days spent here at home partying and cleaning-up, we decided to get out of the house and headed over to CDA for the day. We began by visiting the playground by the beach...it was really great. It was built like a fort and it is huge! O and S were having a pretty good time...mostly!

Then we headed to the Bonsai Bistro for a lovely lunch in an air-conditioned restaurant...as it was in the 90s...Lunch was good, but the highlight of the hour were the Koi that the boys fed, (which swim inside in restaurant), and using chopsticks with great success!

Then we boarded a pseudo-steamship looking boat for a 90 minute cruise of the lake. It was hot...really, really hot. Beautiful and hot.

Half an hour at the beach and we called it a day...O wasn't in his car seat for more than 2.5 minutes, when he passed out...

Birthday Party!

What a fun, fun party we had yesterday to celebrate your 3rd year! It was small, as the yard limits us in number of kids our place can handle without everyone suffering from Claustrophobia!

Grant and Maggie, Robyn and Anna, Lili and Piper, and Hayden, plus one or both parental units attended the fete! (And of course, your cousin S, Aunt Lupe, Grandma Mary, your dad and moi!)...The weather was lovely...not too hot...You guys LOVED the water slip'n slide...hours were spent slithering and screaming in glee! At some point we had ice cream cones and later the light and non-caloric birthday cake!

After most of your friends left, we convinced Lily and Piper to make their parents stay for dinner...more na-kid slip'n sliding...yummy food and soon thereafter, lots of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZs!

Sometimes It's Best Not To Ask...

Cuz....

Cousin S is in town visiting for a week...it is so nice to spend time with him...and O doesn't know what to do with himself...It fills me with joy to see them together...and to hear the constant laughter and chatter between them...
